Aldi Blue Bag Chicken Microwave Instructions:

Just put a few buffalo-style chicken strips on a microwave-safe plate, cover them with a damp paper towel, and cook on high heat for about 30 seconds per strip. If you like your crispy breading, I would skip this option as I find it gets a little soft.

Aldi Blue Bag Crispy Chicken Tacos Ingredients

  • Aldi Blue Bag Crispy Chicken Strips – this may seem like a no-brainer, but one bag can go a long way while making a batch of these tacos.
  • If you like soft-shelled tacos, then flour or corn tortillas – this is really your preference. Flour tortillas seem to hold up better than corn ones if you are making them in advance. Hard-shelled would work well too.
  • Shredded lettuce – this adds both color and texture.
  • Diced tomatoes – we prefer Roma as they are less watery.
  • Shredded cheese – we use Monterey Jacke, but you could even use a Mexican blend.
  • Avocado sour cream – we share our recipe for this and it really makes the difference in the final product. It only uses one avocado!
  • Chopped cilantro – skip this if you are one of those people who think it tastes like soap.
  • Salsa, for serving or your favorite hot sauce.

How to get the pit out of an avocado

Use a knife to score the avocado all the way around, being careful not to cut into the pit. Next, twist the two halves in opposite directions and they should come apart easily. To remove the pit, use a spoon to scoop it out or give it a whack with your knife so it sticks to the blade. Then, you can score the avocado with that knife, or simply use a spoon to scoop it out.
