Looking for a quick and easy meal to make during the week? Check out our Aldi Frozen Orange Bag Chicken Buffalo Wraps Recipe! This recipe is simple, delicious, and perfect for a busy weeknight. Plus, it’s affordable and only requires a few ingredients. You can have this dish on the table in no time at all.

Our Aldi Frozen Orange Bag Chicken Buffalo Wraps Recipe

We all seem to know about the legendary Aldi Red Bag Chicken, in fact, there is a Facebook group that is entirely dedicated to it! It is so popular that you often find it out of stock at your local Aldi grocery store. When you hit that empty shelf in the frozen section, take a little look around at the other color bags of chicken – and if you see the Orange Bag? Grab it! That is what we are using today for our Chicken Buffalo Wraps today!

The Orange bag is officially called Kirkwood Buffalo Style Chicken Strips and is glazed white meat frittered chicken tender strips. We aren’t talking about a pressed chicken product like you would find at your local McDonald’s, it is REAL chicken in every Kirkwood bag of chicken products that we talk about. This one is based on boneless, skinless chicken breasts with rib meat. Yum!

Now, before you get all “I don’t do spicy” on me, these are not super hot. Yes, they have a little bite to them, but they are delicious when balanced out with other ingredients.

Aldi Orange Bag Chicken Nutrition

I love that a serving of this gem has no transfats and 12 grams of protein. A serving size is 3 ounces so there are about 8 servings per bag. Each serving has 190 calories, 9 grams of fat, 17 grams of carbohydrates, and here is the only bad thing: 1040 mg of sodium, which adds up to about 45% of your daily recommendation.

How to Cook Aldi Orange Bag Chicken

What is nice about the orange bag chicken is that it is fully cooked. You don’t really need to cook this chicken, just reheat it. Aldi fans have several different options for that:

Aldi Orange Bag Chicken Microwave Instructions:

Just put a few buffalo-style chicken strips on a microwave-safe plate, cover them with a damp paper towel, and cook on high heat for about 30 seconds per strip. If you like your crispy breading, I would skip this option as I find it gets a little soft.

Aldi Orange Bag Chicken Oven Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place the pieces of chicken on a baking sheet and then bake for 18-20 minutes, until they are fully heated through.

Aldi Orange Bag Chicken Air Fryer Instructions:

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. Place the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 13 minutes, until hot. Be sure to check on it periodically as all air fryers are different! We have this one and love it!

Aldi Orange Bag Chicken Recipes

Yes, you can just grab a bag of the classic Aldi brioche bun and whip up buffalo chicken sandwiches with these crispy chicken strips, and we have shared our Buffalo Chicken Pizza in a different post. Today, we are whipping up a batch of simple snack wraps that even the Aldi Nerd community Facebook group would approve of.

I could also see these Buffalo Chicken Strips cut up and topping Mac N Cheese! I would drizzle a little Frank’s hot sauce over it for presentation, but they would counter each other nicely.

The only recipes I saw for this color chicken on the Aldi website was on salads. I knew I needed to give you more ideas on what to do with these different varieties of chicken tenders, especially with their low prices!

Why Are Wraps Healthy?

Wraps have a bad reputation for being unhealthy, but that isn’t always the case. In fact, when made with healthy ingredients, wraps can be a nutritious and satisfying meal! They are often lower in calories and carbs than traditional sandwiches, and they are perfect for on-the-go eating. You certainly can’t beat the time it takes or doesn’t take, to whip them up. That makes them perfect for those crazy busy nights we all seem to come across.

What is the best kind of tortilla to use for a wrap?

Wheat tortillas are the healthiest option, but if you are looking for a bit more flavor, try using flavored tortillas like spinach or sun-dried tomato. We like to make our own as it is beyond easy to do and only takes a few simple ingredients like flour, salt, water, and oil. We teach you how to make them here: Cooking Class 101: How To Make Tortillas

Now for the good stuff!

What kind of dressing is better for buffalo chicken wraps? There are so many delicious options for dressing a buffalo chicken wrap! You can use ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, or even just some diced tomatoes and onions. Yum!

Blue cheese seems to be a natural fit for buffalo chicken. It just pairs perfectly with the crispy chicken and the slightly spicy buffalo sauce. However, if you are not a fan of blue cheese or just want to mix it up a bit, ranch dressing is always a delicious option and tends to be more child-friendly.

Next week? We start talking about the Aldi Parmesan herb encrusted chicken tenders and what you can do with those! Yes, we sing the praises of other types of Kirkwood chicken like blue bag chicken, yellow bag chicken, green bag chicken, and the Aldi cult-favorite: the red Kirkwood bag chicken! They are all in the frozen food section of your local Aldi.

Next to fresh produce and the Everything Bagel Seasoning, these are our favorite things to get at their unbeatable prices. I should be an Aldi spokesperson, LOL! Just make sure you check the color of the bag
