What kind of cookies do you make for Thanksgiving?

Do you make cookies or are you more of a pie person? I know not all kids are into things like pumpkin pie or even sweet potato pecan pie and that is where cupcakes and cookies come in. They make for a great place setting treat or alternative dessert for non-pie fans.

Oreo turkey cookie recipe

Yup – that is what we are doing today. Using Oreo Cookies to make the basic body of our turkey. Any kind of Oreo will work but I like to use the chocolate-filled ones – but they can be a little harder to find in my area.

I used white “normal” filled Oreos for this recipe.

Let’s talk about Oreos For a minute

Have you ever tried the delicious and unique Oreo cookie? It’s a brand of creme-filled sandwich wafers, consisting of two (usually chocolate) square cookies with sweet crèmes fillings.

The best-selling cookie in America, Oreo has been around since 1912. It became a global phenomenon and topped the charts for 21st-century sales too!

As of 2018, the version sold in the U.S. is made by the Nabisco division of Mondelez International.

The most popular variety of oreo cookies is the original, with over one hundred countries producing them. In recent years there have been limited editions released for celebrations or holidays such as Halloween and easter, which are usually more expensive because they contain extra ingredients not found in regular cookies.
