While it may seem difficult to save $50 a week, it can actually be easy to do. A few small changes can help you save that much or even more. Here are three tips to save $50 per week.

  1. Reduce daily purchases. Do you stop at Starbucks every day on your way to work? When you’re standing in line at the grocery store, do you always pick up a candy bar, pack of gum, or a magazine that you don’t even read? Cutting out these small and often times unnecessary purchases can help you save more each week.
  2. Cook your meals at home. Do you or your child purchase food from a cafeteria? Try packing your lunches instead. Instead of splurging on your weekly takeout or visit to a restaurant, try cooking your dinner at home. Not only will it save you money initially, but cutting out fast food will be healthier for you and may help reduce your medical bills as well.
  3. Cut out unnecessary expenses. Do you really need both Netflix and Hulu? Is it necessary to have the premium cable package? Can you switch to a cheaper gym? Why are you still paying for a landline when you only use your cell phone? Look at your overall monthly spending to find out where you can cut costs.

These are just three easy things you can do to save $50 per week. A few small sacrifices can go a long way!
