Our Traditional Cuban Yellow Rice

I have been on a Cuban food kick lately, just in case you couldn’t tell… black beans, pork, ham, and so much more but the real star of the show? Our Traditional Cuban Yellow Rice! You can see how great it looks, the subtle taste rocks out your meal without over powering it. I hope you like it as much as we do!
You will need:
4 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice uncooked
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp ground turmeric
3 cups chicken broth
2 tsp . salt
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
Directions:
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter
Add rice to the butter
Stir the rice until it begins to turn light brown
Add garlic, onion powder and turmeric
Continue to stir until well combined
Add chicken broth to the rice
Turn heat to medium-high and season with salt
Bring rice to a boil
Once boiling, turn heat down to low
Cover with a lid
Cook for 25 minutes
Remove from heat and add cilantro
