The History of Minions
The history of the Minions, as depicted in the movie series with Gru, begins with the release of the animated film “Despicable Me” in 2010. The Minions are small, yellow, cylindrical creatures with a childlike behavior, and they quickly became a beloved aspect of the franchise. Here’s an overview of their history:
1. “Despicable Me” (2010): The Minions were introduced in the first film “Despicable Me.” They are depicted as mischievous henchmen working for the supervillain Gru, who plans to steal the Moon. The Minions play a central role in the film, providing humor and endearing moments. They speak in their own language, which is a combination of various languages and gibberish, and often engage in slapstick comedy.
2. “Despicable Me 2” (2013): In the sequel, the Minions continue to assist Gru, but they become even more prominent in the storyline. Some of the Minions are kidnapped and turned into purple, indestructible monsters by the film’s antagonist, El Macho. The movie delves deeper into their personality and camaraderie.
3. “Minions” (2015): “Minions” is a spin-off prequel that explores the origins of the Minions. The film showcases their evolution and history, dating back to the dawn of time. It explains that the Minions’ ultimate goal is to serve the most despicable master they can find, which leads them on a journey to find a new leader after they accidentally cause the demise of their previous masters.
4. “Despicable Me 3” (2017): The Minions continue to be an integral part of Gru’s adventures in the third installment. In this film, Gru discovers he has a twin brother, Dru, who is much wealthier and seeks to convince Gru to return to a life of villainy. The Minions face some challenges and comedic situations during this transition.
5. “Minions: The Rise of Gru” (2022): A sequel to “Minions” is planned to be released, further exploring the Minions’ interactions with a young Gru and their previous escapades.
Throughout the movies, the Minions have captured the hearts of audiences worldwide with their adorable appearance, humorous antics, and loyalty to Gru. Their popularity has extended beyond the movies, leading to an abundance of merchandise, spin-offs, and cultural references. They have become iconic characters in the world of animation and are adored by fans of all ages.

Preparation Instructions

1. Start by wrapping your glass with black craft tape to create the distinctive Minion goggle band. It’s the beginning of our dessert journey!

2. Next, affix the googly eyes to the tape using glue, bringing your Minion to life. With that, your edible Minion is almost ready!

3. Now, it’s time to prepare the blueberry Jello as per the package instructions. Pour it into the glass, filling it halfway up to the black tape line.
4. Patiently place your glass in the refrigerator. Allow the Jello to set for about 1-2 hours.
5. While waiting, let’s whip up our fluffy topping. In a mixer, combine heavy cream and sugar. Mix until the cream forms stiff peaks.
6. Time to bring in our yellow splash! For a bright and lively Minion yellow hue in your whipped topping, simply mix in 2-3 drops of yellow food coloring until it blends seamlessly.
7. Once your Jello is set, the final touch awaits. Spoon your sunny yellow topping onto the set Jello.
And voila! You’ve created your own delectable Minion Jello Parfait. Enjoy the magic in every bite!

How to Switch This Up a Bit
For a unique twist on your Jello try using flavored whipped cream, such as vanilla or coconut, to add a surprise taste element.
Why not add crushed cookies to mimic Minion’s denim overalls? You could also swap out the blueberry Jello for a different flavor or layer multiple Jello flavors to create a rainbow effect.
For a healthier option, consider using a mix of Greek yogurt and honey instead of whipped cream. Cooking is all about creativity, so don’t be afraid to experiment and make this recipe your own!
