If you’re the type of person who is looking to save money, you know that eating out isn’t something that really fits very well into a budget. However, it’s still nice from time to time to enjoy a nice dinner out where you don’t have to cook or clean up after yourself. Fitting a nice dinner out into a budget can be a little complicated, but if you follow a couple guidelines, it makes it a little easier.

First, always look for coupons. Sign up for email newsletters on websites of your favorite restaurants. Olive Garden is one of the restaurants that sends out coupons quite a bit, and sometimes you can get 2 entrees for $20 which is a pretty huge savings. Things like that absolutely make it easier to eat out and save money. You can also do a quick search on Google to find any coupons for restaurants that you might be thinking about eating at. It’s a quick, easy way to find ways to save money at your favorite restaurants!

The next step is to think about what you can do to make your bill smaller. If you want an alcoholic drink, think about maybe sacrificing an appetizer or dessert to allow for that drink, and vice versa. Places that offer added dishes to their entrees are great. Again, Olive Garden is a great example because you get soup or salad with your meal, so you get a huge meal and are able to enjoy a lot of food for a smaller price. This eliminates the need for an appetizer or dessert because you’re already getting so much food to begin with.

Another option is looking for “deal days”. Deal days are popular with places like Denny’s, where they do free pancakes. But there are also restaurants that do deal days other than that. Also, most restaurants offer freebies on your birthday or special occasion which is another way to save money!

Overall, it’s all about making sure you can afford a dinner out and if you can, finding the best deal. There are ways to enjoy a nice dinner at a smaller cost than typical, but you have to really find out where you can cut costs to enjoy that dinner out you’ve been craving!
