Christmas Wreath White Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies
You will need:
1 (15.35 ounce) package Double Stuf Oreo Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
2 (11 ounce) packages white chocolate chip
To decorate:
Green sparkling sugar
Red candy melts
Instructions
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.
2. Melt red candy coating according to package directions. Transfer melted candy to a decorating bag with a fine point tip.
3. Working quickly, create multiple bow shapes from the melted red candy on the waxed paper. Allow to dry completely.
4. Place contents of one bag white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat in 30-second increments, stirring each time, until completely melted. Do not overheat as the chocolate will seize and become unusable.
5. Drop cookie into melted chocolate and turn to coat completely. Place cookie in a fork, tapping the fork gently against the side of the bowl, allowing excess chocolate to return to the bowl. If air bubbles form, pop them with a toothpick.
6. Slide the coated cookie onto the baking sheet. Immediately decorate with green sugar sprinkles, using a clean piping tip to protect the middle of the “wreath.” Remove the piping quickly with a slight twist. Press bow into place.
7. Allow cookie to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate for faster results. Store in an airtight container as room temperature.
