10 Uses For Single Cup Brewers, Other Then Coffee

Do you own a single cup brewer? Did you know that they can be very handy for things other then coffee? While there are endless possibilities of what it could be used for, here are just 10 uses for a single cup brewer, other then coffee.

Oatmeal:
Who would have thought of using a single cup brewer for making oatmeal? It is easy to do and works great! You can simply dump a pack of the instant oatmeal (or use a scoop of quick oats) in a cup or bowl, then (making sure that you do not have an old k-cup in the brewer) place the bowl where you would normally put a coffee cup and hit the button. Now you have a hot bowl of oatmeal in just a few seconds!

Mashed Potatoes:
Much like the oatmeal, you can make mashed potatoes! I have found the single pouch servings to work the best for this, but you can also use instant boxed ones as well.

Tea:
They do sell special tea k-cups, but why pay the high price for them? Simply place your cup under the single cup brewer and push the button (make sure not to have an old k-cup in there) and then dip your favorite tea bag in for a few minutes and you have yourself a hot cup of tea. I also make iced tea the same way by just using more tea bags in the cup and then pour it into a filled jug of water.

Hot Cocoa:
No need for special k-cups for this one either. Just dump a packet of hot cocoa mix in a cup and push the button to fill it with hot water. Mix well and enjoy!

Hot Cider:
Buy the instant packets of hot cider and dump one into a cup. Place under the single cup brewer and select the cup size you want. After it fills with hot water, be sure to mix well.

Baby Bottle:
There are two different ways that a single cup brewer works for baby bottles. First you can place a cup under the brewer and fill with hot water. Then place the baby bottle in the cup and wait a few minutes for it to warm. If you are mixing formula, you can use the hot water from the brewer in the bottle. NOTE: just be sure to wait a little while and check the temp before feeding, as the water can be very hot.

Cup Of Noodles:
Need a fast lunch on the go? Put a Cup of Noodles under the brewer and push the button to fill with hot water. Mix well and let stand for a few minutes.

Soup:
Pop the top on a can of soup. Dump into a bowl and then place under brewer to add hot water.

Cream Of Wheat:
These are a fast and easy item to have for breakfast. Empty a packet of Cream Of Wheat into a bowl and place under the brewer. Push the button to add hot water.

Grits:
Another great breakfast item. Same as the Cream Of Wheat and the Oatmeal. Empty a packet into a bowl or cup, place under the single cup brewer and push the button to add hot water. Mix and enjoy!
