Heart

Valentine’s day is coming up soon, and whether you’re planning a first date or you’ve been in a relationship for a long time, you may be looking for inexpensive date ideas. You’re in luck!
Here are some that will cost you less than $50 total and will ensure a great time.

Make a home-cooked meal

Don’t just buy boxed stuff, throw it on the stove, and call it dinner. Actually make it homemade and be prepared for a great reaction. Even if you don’t know how to cook, you can find all sorts of fancy recipes online from beginner levels to expert chefs. Prep your table with flowers, a tablecloth, and some candles, and serve wine or cocktails to really make the meal special and out of the ordinary. It sure beats going to an overly priced and crowded restaurant! Make it even more memorable by cooking it together!

Go out during the day

Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year. Make it cheaper by going out during the day, if possible. Lunch, an early movie, and then a fun afternoon stroll while sipping coffee can all be under $50 a person if you plan it just right. Not into movie dates during the day? Take advantage of the discounted or free rates offered at museums, zoos, and art galleries and make a day of having a fun adventure with the person you’re trying to get to know better, or the person that knows you better than anyone. If your town is a smaller one and doesn’t offer such things, you could always go for a stroll along a river or in the park and plan a picnic in the sunshine. Just spending the day together will be a nice gift for anyone.

Tour your town

Do you really know what your town has to offer? So many people complain that their towns don’t have anything fun to do and they’re always bored. Well, quit that this Valentine’s Day and explore your town with that special someone. Grab some cameras, a thermos of hot chocolate, pack a snack and a backpack, and get to exploring! Stop by your local tourist bureau and pick up brochures of fun places to visit and make a whole day of learning about each other and the place in which you live.
