So…. I got the Pumpkin Kisses 75% off, after Halloween. That made them about $0.79 a bag!
By themselves, I thought they were a tad too much, but adding them to a cookie can really balance them out. Running through my cookie recipes, only one stood out: snickerdoodles!
Pumpkin Kiss Snicker Doodle Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 4oz stick butter – softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp milk
Preheat oven to 375 – 350 if using dark coated baking pans. Cream together the butter and sugar. Slowly add vanilla extract and egg. When creamy, add in flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add the milk last.
Take 1/2 cup sugar and 2 Tbsp cinnamon, mix together. Roll the cookie dough into 1 inch balls and coat with the cinnamon sugar mix. Pop onto the baking pan and put into the oven for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and INSTANTLY put a kiss in the center of each cookies. (You have to press a little bit).
I like to dress my holiday baking up a tad — each cookie gets placed into a cupcake liner before going into the package. It helps keep them from sticking together but also really makes it look like a special package. I am a sucker for that little extra touch.
Enjoy!
