My niece is making ALL of her baby’s food as I did for Miss Sarah. He is now teething and I picked up this GREAT set of cookie cutters and a garage sale (I LOVE Circus things!). I put together another “care” package for them (with foam mats, wood puzzles, some clothes, lots of bibs) and added the cutters and the recipe I used for the homemade teething biscuits. They have NO sugar and are easy to make — it only takes a small investment of your time. It takes about a dozen or so, depending on how big you make them.

Babies need to chew on something when they are cutting teeth. Homemade teething biscuits are the best because they can be molded to fit their mouth and throat, which is more comfortable for them than a washcloth or other object. These biscuits will help soothe your baby’s sore gums while also teaching them how to self-soothe, which might make it easier for you once those tiny teeth start coming in!

Homemade Teething Biscuits With Oatmeal

I would wait a bit before I switch from rice cereal to the oatmeal adaptation. You substitute the same amount of oatmeal as you do rice cereal but need to do something first.

Oatmeal is a wonderful source of iron, protein, and fiber.
