March has finally arrived and how can we forget about all the wonderful occasions that come along with this month. We will be welcoming the first official day of spring, we will be seeing flowers everywhere, kids will have a spring break and finally, Easter will be just a few days away. Are you excited for all of this? Let’s first think about the upcoming St Patrick’s Day.

You must be excited for the upcoming St Patrick’s Day. Do you have any plans to attend the parade? Or you are looking forward to a lot of green beer in future along with having big plans to celebrate the day by attending the parade.
Most of us like to celebrate almost everything despite our busy schedule. Even though the celebrations have to be kept pretty simple. While one of the easiest ways to celebrate special occasions is with “treats”.
Munching on snacks and desserts all day long is one of the best ways to get into the spirit of this special day. I am sure that this sweet and delicious treat can be put down by anyone.
If you are looking for a sweet treat that you can gift your friends and family all day long, just check out these Golden Treats. It is one of my favorite childhood recipes and I used to have them throughout the holiday season without having any guilt. If you are planning for a little cooking for the St Patrick’s Day, it is a great treat to have.
This is another neat St Patrick’s Day recipe — if you like cookie dough treats, this one is for you!
Golden Treats
You will need:
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- dash of cinnamon
- 1 stick of butter, softened
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla
- 3/4 cups of mini chocolate chips -OR- crushed mint candies
- 1-or-2 tbs of water
- Green and Gold candy melts
Directions:
Combine flour, salt and cinnamon in a bowl. In a different bowl mix together butter, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla. Once creamy add in the four mix and beat until creamy. Add in the chocolate chips. Add water if the mixture is to dry. Take the cookie mix and roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place into the freezer for about 20 minutes to firm up the balls. Melt the candy melts in the microwave according to the directions in the package. Gently dip the balls into the melt. Place them back onto the wax paper to dry. Add sprinkles if you wish.
